Serrano Attends Woodycrest Recognition Day

Senator Serrano celebrated the contributions of the youth and staff of the Woodycrest Center for Human Development at the 7th annual "Recognition Day" on August 16.

During the event, summer graduates from Woodycrest were honored for their role in the New York City Youth in the Environment Project at 3 NYC DEP locations: Wards Island, North River, and Water Registry-Arthur Ave.

"Institutions like Woodycrest, which engage our children, and inspire them to protect the environment, are essential to New York City," said the Senator.

"I will fight hard, both in Albany and right here in the district, to make sure that these programs and organizations are available to our children for years to come," he said.

The Senator praised Ade A. Rasul, Executive Director of Woodycrest, for his tireless dedication to the families of Highbridge.

Woodycrest Center for Human Development, in addition to providing summer youth employment opportunities offers; educational, cultural, recreational, job and career readiness training as well as violence prevention workshops, and parental empowerment programs.
