Senator Robach Receives The 2007 Nysaflt "friends Of Foreign Language" Award

The New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers, Inc. recently selected Senator Robach as the 2007 recipient of the Friends of Foreign Language Award for the Rochester Region of the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers.

This award is given at the statewide level to an individual outside of the foreign language profession who has demonstrated support for foreign language education and foreign language teachers. The Senator’s support for all Rochester teachers is well known by his continued funding for schools and for staff retirement and health benefits.

The sponsorship of Senate bill #S6230 which directs the commissioner of education to establish an incentive program for school districts wishing to implement programs of foreign language in elementary schools, will impact the teaching profession and help to develop long term positive attitudes about the importance of foreign language education.
