Golden Committee Assignments Announced: Reappointed As Chairman Of Senate Aging Committee For Third Time

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) today is announcing his committee assignments for the new 2007 legislative year, highlighting his reappointment by Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno to serve as the Chairman of the New York State Senate Aging Committee.

Senator Golden was also reappointed a member of the following Committees: Banks; Crime Victims, Crime and Corrections; Veterans, Homeland Security & Military Affairs; Education; Codes; Investigations & Government Operations; and was newly selected to serve as a member of the State Senate Insurance Committee.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "I thank Senator Bruno for reappointing me to serve as the Chairman of the Senate Aging Committee for a third time. I am proud that over the past four years, the Committee has developed and focused on an aggressive legislative agenda that has improved the quality of life of senior citizens throughout New York State. We have protected seniors from crime, we have increased the S.C.R.I.E. eligibility requirements, we have adopted historic Assisted Living legislation. And I will continue to advocate for legislation that will reduce the cost of prescription drugs here in New York. My mission is to allow all seniors to live with independence, dignity and choice."
