Golden: Learn To Be Prepared For An Emergency
Brooklyn-State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) will host a presentation on emergency preparedness on Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Bay Ridge Community Service Center, located at 6935-4th Avenue, at the corner of Ovington and 4th Avenues. The presentation will be held from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the American Red Cross of Greater New York and the New York City Office of Emergency Management, the event is designed to help families and individuals take measures to better protect themselves in times of emergency. Participants will receive a free interactive CD that can be used to create personal evacuation plans as well as valuable information that will help families get prepared.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "In light of the recent tornado that struck Bay Ridge, it is imperative that members of the community take measures to protect themselves, and their families, in the event of future emergencies. I thank the American Red Cross for their continued efforts to educate local residents. Together, we will build a stronger, safer community."
