New Program To Make Mammography Records Available
State Senator Martin Golden with Council Member Vincent Gentile joined today with a group of local, state and federal elected officials as well as former patients of Bay Imaging to announce the release of thousands of medical records held hostage by the radiological imaging facility.
“Today, I am proud to announce that, after more than a year of struggle, thousands of records held hostage by Bay Imaging will finally be released to the patients who so desperately need them. I am also personally gratified to announce that Dr. Rubin Fleurantin, who owned Bay Imaging, currently sits in jail for contempt of court and his medical license has been taken away as a result of his actions,” Councilman Gentile said.
“Today is truly great a day,” said Councilman Domenic Recchia, Jr. “After almost a year and a half after Bay Imaging shut its doors and abandoned the community, its former patients are finally getting their medical records that they so desperately need and are entitled to. It has been an honor to be able to work with all levels of government to bring justice and closure to so many affected by these greedy and negligent doctors.”
Capital/ Nova Records Management is in the process of indexes Bay Imaging’s medical records. The records management company has also established a hotline number specifically for Bay Imaging patients, according to Ken Kristopovich, lead sales manager for Nova. The number is (732) 698-2309.
Additionally, former Bay Imaging clients should complete the “Authorization for Health Information Disclosure” form and submit it to Capital/Nova Records Management, 9B Brick Plant Road, South River, NJ 08882 or fax the form to (732) 698-2045.Councilman Gentile added that clients can contact his office at 311 or stop by his district office at 8703 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11209 for a copy of the form.
