Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) today is announcing his plans to host, with other elected officials, veteran organizations, and civic leaders, Brooklyn’s Support The Troops Rally on Sunday, June 10, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at the Flagpole in Marine Park located at Fillmore Avenue and Marine Parkway.
The program will feature patriotic music performances, inspirational speeches, the distribution of small American Flags, and "Support Our Troops" posters and lawn signs. Senator Golden regularly hosts support our troops rallies to give local residents, proud Americans, a chance to show their support for armed services members and their families, especially those serving in this time of war. Senator Golden has and will continue to host these rallies as long as the War Against Terrorism continues.
"It is important that we gather as a community in Brooklyn to show our support for the brave men and women of our armed forces fighting to defend our freedoms and protect us against terrorism in the future," said Senator Golden, "The sights and sounds of Anti-War protests are demoralizing to our troops and it’s time we stand up, wave our flag and send them a message of support and appreciation. Let us not forget, that we enjoy life because of their sacrifice and their dedication."
