Martin J. Golden

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) recently attended a winter summer basketball camp sponsored by Forest City Ratner Companies and the Nets hosted at St. Ephrem’s which was offered over the winter vacation free of charge.

The camp featured a special visit from former Fort Hamilton High School basketball legend and retired Nets staf Albert King who was born in Brooklyn. Mr. King’s best days as a basketball player came as a member of the New Jersey Nets but he learned the game in Brooklyn. Mr. King is a major supporter of Forest City Ratner’s Atlantic Yards Project and he inspired the young people telling them to "work hard in school, listen to your parents and set high goals."

Senator Marty Golden stated, "I applaud Forest City Ratner for their commitment to Brooklyn and for their interest and desire to turn the youth of our community into future basketball stars. Over 125 students had an extraordinary opportunity to learn the essential skills necessary to be successful in basketball during their winter break. I look forward to seeing some of these stars play professional basketball in Barclays Arena in downtown Brooklyn in the years to come."
