Senator Golden To Salute Local Leaders At Italian Heritage Celebration

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today announced that he will host his annual community celebration honoring distinguished Italian Americans as part of Italian Heritage Month on Thursday, October 11, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at C and C Caterers, located at 7611-18th Avenue in Brooklyn.

The honorees include:

Angelo, Ben and Ralph Badolato, Local Merchant, Badolato General Contracting
Frank Cangariella, Deputy Inspector, 63rd Precinct
Father Michael Gelfant, St. Anselm’s R.C. Church
John Manzola, Marine Park Civic Association
Louise Riso, Local Activist, Former Community Board 10 Member
Cathy Santopietro, Public Affairs, U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Hamilton
John Schiumo, Reporter, NY 1 News

Senator Golden will honor the above for their untiring efforts and contributions to the community and City at such levels including business, public safety, community service, media and civic affairs. The honorees will be awarded New York State Senate Proclamations.

Senator Golden stated, "Truly Italian Americans have contributed tremendously to the growth and success of our nation. It is without a doubt that Italian Americans have made this community and this City such a unique community full of cultural, tradition and patriotism. We are fortunate that our community is full of leaders of Italian heritage that have made a difference in our schools, in our public safety, and in many charitable and community organizations and I look forward to honoring these distinguished New Yorkers."
