Senator Golden Supports Eagle Scout Project Of Peter Porcelli
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn), a supporter of the Brooklyn Council of the Boy Scouts of America, was among those in attendance for the Eagle Scout Project of Peter Porcelli, a Life Scout with Troop 99 of St. Athanasius, on May 20, 2007.
Peter Porcelli, in conjunction with the 62nd Precinct Community Affairs Officers, conducted his community service project, entitled "Operation Safe Child", for the rank of Eagle Scout. Over 75 children were registered and entered in the New York State registry, with identification cards issued to the parents.
Peter Porcelli, 15, is a freshman at James Madison High School and plays on the Junior Varsity Football Team as well as the Varsity Lacrosse Team.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "Peter Porcelli represents the very best of our community’s youth and I am confident that is exactly the right candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a young man who has gone above and beyond in his young life to do what is best for this community. I commend and thank the 62nd Precinct for their efforts working with Peter on this very important project focused on the safety of our children. It will surely make a lasting difference."
