Senator Golden To Take Oath Of Office For Third Term
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) will take the oath of office as he begins his third term as the State Senator representing New York’s 22nd District, at a public ceremony and reception to be held on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bay Ridge Manor, located at 476-76th Street in Brooklyn.
Judge Matthew D’Emic, Justice of the Supreme Court, will administer the oath of office to Senator Marty Golden. Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes will deliver the keynote address. Craig Eaton will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.
Senator Golden stated, “It is only through the incredible support of this community that I have been honored with the trust placed in me to serve as your State Senator. I hold my position in the highest regard and strive each day to serve each and every one of the needs of our neighborhood. Because together, we can continue to make Brooklyn, New York City and New York State the very best place to live, work and raise a family.”
Senator Golden is a former New York City Police Officer. Prior to his election to the New York State Senate, Mr. Golden was elected to the New York City Council twice and served from 1998-2002. Mr. Golden serves as the Chairman of the New York State Senate Committee on Aging. Most recently, Senator Golden led a New York State revolution that saw the first ever Child Care tax credit become law in New York State providing financial relief to families in the amount of $330 per child.
