Senator Nozzolio Delivers $50,000 For Town Of Wolcott

Michael F. Nozzolio

Wolcott– New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio today announced that he has secured a $50,000 state grant for the Town of Wolcott to help alleviate the cost of repairs at the Town Hall for local residents. Senator Nozzolio made the announcement at the Town Hall at 6070 Lake Avenue.

“It was a pleasure to secure this state funding to provide relief to the property taxpayers in the Town of Wolcott,” said Senator Nozzolio. “This funding will save money for residents and allow repairs at the Town Hall without putting the costs on the local property taxpayers.”

The Wolcott Town Hall is located at the former Wolcott Hospital and clinic and is in need of serious repair. The building has had flooding in the basement and recently required a new roof. With today’s funding, the Town will be able to convert an old cafeteria into a conference room to be used for GED classes, probation and workforce development counseling. In addition, the Town will be able to improve the heating and cooling system and will convert currently unused areas of the building into office and storage space.

Town of Wolcott Supervisor Kim Park said, “This assistance from Senator Nozzolio is a great boost to our efforts to repair and update the Town Hall. His support will significantly reduce the costs that would have been placed on our property taxpayers for these repairs.”
