Senator Nozzolio Secures $60,000 For East Williamson Fire Department
East Williamson- Citing the importance of assisting local fire departments in their efforts to protect the community, State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured a $60,000 State grant for the East Williamson Fire Department. The announcement was made at the Fire Department at 6329 East Townline Road.
“Our brave firefighters represent the very best of our communities and the very best of New York State,” said Senator Nozzolio. “Local fire departments provide critical lifesaving services every day and I commend our firefighters for the selfless and heroic duties they perform. Their service reminds us of the importance of having well-trained and fully equipped firefighters ready to save lives and protect our citizens, families and communities.”
The $60,000 State grant will be used to assist the East Williamson Fire Department in purchasing and upgrading emergency equipment, including a new generator. The new automatic generator will replace an existing forty-year old gas generator and will allow the department to be fully functional at all times and will provide the community with a safe place in the event of a natural disaster. The fire company will also be able to update the station’s electrical system to meet current electrical codes.
Fire Chief Joseph English said, “Senator Nozzolio’s efforts in securing this funding will allow us to obtain this much needed generator. We greatly appreciate Senator Nozzolio’s efforts to secure this State grant to support the East Williamson Fire Department.”
“It was a pleasure for me to secure this grant to support the East Williamson Fire Department and I commend Chief English and the firefighters for their continued commitment to public service,” Nozzolio concluded.
