Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz To Hold Meeting About Police Shooting Of Fermin Arzu

Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) and the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization will be meeting on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Christian Community Neighborhood Church located at 1437 Longfellow Avenue between Jennings and Freeman Avenue in The Bronx to discuss the recent shooting of Mr. Fermin Arzu. 

“My heartfelt condolences go out to Mr. Arzu’s fiancée, his children, his family and his friends,” said Senator Rev. Diaz. 

Mr. Arzu was a Honduran resident of the 32nd Senatorial District who was killed on Westchester Avenue and Hewitt Place late Friday night by off-duty New York City Police Officer Raphael Lora.  

Senator Rev. Diaz has invited Mr. Arzu’s family members, Honduran diplomats and Members of the United Caribbean Congress to attend Thursday’s meeting.
