Senator Saland Announces Local Assistance Grants From The New York State Council On The Arts
Senator Steve Saland (R,I,C Poughkeepsie) today announced that local art and non-profit cultural organizations have been awarded grants from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). A total of $245,090 in grants were awarded in the 2007 round of NYSCA Local Assistance Grants.
"The arts enrich our lives in so many ways," said Senator Saland. New York State, through NYSCA’s Local Assistance Grant Program, recognizes the impact of the arts within our local communities. New York State is not only the home of world class theater and museums, but to countless vibrant local arts organizations. I commend NYSCA for its recognition of the importance of assisting the arts within our local communities as well as recognizing the important contributions the arts make to our economy. I congratulate the organizations which have received these well deserved grants," Saland continued.
