Senator Saland Honored By Mental Health Coalition
Senator Steve Saland (R,I,C Poughkeepsie) today announced that he has been named the "2006 Extraordinary Legislator" by the New York State Coalition for Children’s Mental Health Services for his continued advocacy of the health and safety of children with disabilities.
"It is an honor to be recognized by the New York State Coalition for Children’s Mental Health Services," said Senator Saland. "I look forward to continuing a partnership with this important organization in an area that has such a profound impact on the life of all New York’s families."
The coalition specifically cited Senator Saland’s efforts in supporting legislation creating the Interagency Restraint and Behavior Management Committee, which will submit recommendations to the Legislature and the Governor later this year on a coordinated state policy realting to restraint and de-escalation techniques and staff training.
