Senator Morahan To 'cut The Ribbon' On Handicap Accessible Playground In Orangetown

New York State Senator Thomas P. Morahan, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities will join community leaders and officials on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. to participate in the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of a handicap accessible playground at Veteran's Park, located at 81 Hunt Road, in the Town of Orangetown. Senator Morahan secured a $50,000 grant to develop the facility, which was designed specifically for the needs of 2-5 year olds who have some cognitive or physical disability.

"I am pleased to have been of assistance to the families of youngsters with disabilities, and hope that this playground will be a place that can bring fun and joy to children and their families," said Morahan.
