Senator Morahan: School Aid Increases Great News For Lower Hudson Valley School Districts

New York State Senator Thomas P. Morahan (R,C,I, New City) today announced that record increases in school aid for districts in the Lower Hudson Valley combined with double property tax relief rebate checks means good news for taxpayers. Across the board, school districts saw significant increases in aid in the 2007-08 state budget that was passed by the State Legislature.

"The end result is what I, along with my Senate colleagues, have been fighting for since the beginning of the budget process," said Senator Morahan. "Homeowners in Rockland and Orange Counties are facing some the highest taxes in the nation and these increases in state aid to school districts as well as the inclusion of the Senate’s plan to double property tax rebate checks will help them dramatically," said the Senator.

Below are the percent increases school districts in the Senator's 38th Senate District will receive:
