NYS Senator Velmanette Montgomery

(D-Brooklyn) and NYC Council Member Darlene Mealy (D-Brooklyn) will bring government to the people at their networking expo for homeowners and homebuyers complete with information presented by more than 20 City agencies and neighborhood-based organizations.

From finding out about low-interest loans/refinancing options to foreclosure prevention to community gardening and more, expo goers will have a one-stop-shopping opportunity to meet, greet and learn from resource providers that can help them make informed decisions about their future as homeowners. The event is free-of-charge.

NYC Finance Commissioner Martha Stark will kick-off the networking expo
-- Pathways to Homeowner Empowerment -- with a talk about the STAR program as well as real property taxes and assessments.

The Commissioner’s presentation will be followed by a tabling event, featuring representatives of city agencies and community-based organizations distributing information and responding to questions. The exhibitors include:
