Senator Montgomery Helps Local Businesses Get Bigger Piece Of State's $3.1 Billion Procurement Pie
At a recent conference convened by State Senator Velmanette Montgomery (D-Brooklyn) and hosted by Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation (SBIDC), the NYS Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner John C. Egan discussed the "nuts and bolts" of state procurement opportunities with 55 small business owners from Southwest Brooklyn.
The Commissioner's talk included suggestions for accessing and competing for state contracts valued at an estimated $3.1 billion, which OGS oversees.
"We are extremely grateful to Senator Montgomery for all the work that she does on behalf of small businesses. The industrial business community in Southwest Brooklyn is very interested in tapping into procurement opportunities and is thrilled to have the opportunity to meet Commissioner Egan and learn about the State procurement process straight from the source," said Rachael Dubin, Policy and Planning Manager for SBIDC.
