Senator Thompson To Hold Press Conference On Raising Public Awareness For Gas Quality & Price Gouging
Buffalo, NY- A press conference is scheduled for Sunday, May 11th at 2:00pm at Mandela Markets, located at 272 East Ferry Street, Buffalo, NY 14208. Antoine M. Thompson, New York State Senator, 60th District (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) will be raising the public’s awareness on what recourse motorists and consumers have in the wake of increasing gas prices.
While prices are expected to rise above the $4.00/gallon mark this summer, Senator Thompson believes that it is important to do everything within our powers to maximize the value of our dollars at the pump. He has offered tips for improving your fuel efficiency to situations to be wary of at the pump.
“My colleagues and I are continuing to walk the fine line to research ways to try and provide consumer relief at the pumps while keeping the state’s finances balanced,” Senator Thompson stated.
"Gasoline-related scams can be a source of further frustration for consumers," said Mindy A. Bockstein, Chairperson and Executive Director of the Consumer Protection Board. "We are pleased to join with the Senator to heighten awareness and engage consumers in the monitoring process."
