Senator Fuschillo And Town Of Hempstead Team Up To Start Recycling Program At Merrick Avenue Middle School

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray recently teamed up to help Merrick Avenue Middle School in Merrick start a school recycling program to teach students about the importance of recycling and help them develop good habits at an early age. The program is being undertaken at all the schools in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District.

Senator Fuschillo secured state funding to purchase collection bins and containers where the plastics, bottles, and papers collected by students and faculty can be deposited and stored until they are picked up by the Town of Hempstead to be recycled.
