Senator Fuschillo Presents New York State Medal For Merit To Massapequa Park Veteran

     State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently presented the New York State Medal For Merit to Richard Bula, an Air Force veteran from Massapequa Park.

     “During the Vietnam War, Mr. Bula served in the Air Force to defend our country overseas. The sacrifices he made during his years of service to our nation make him deserving of our gratitude and respect. I congratulate Mr. Bula on earning this honor and thank him for his brave and dedicated service,” said Senator Fuschillo.

     Mr. Bula earned the medal for his service in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. During his service, he attained the rank of Airman First Class, and also earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.    

     The New York State Medal for Merit recognizes military personnel who were awarded a valor, achievement, commendation or meritorious service decoration or whose service directly supported combat operations.
