State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently welcomed Leyland Lazarus, a senior at Kennedy High School, to the State Senate in Albany.

Leyland spent three weeks working in Senator Fuschillo’s district office as part of Kennedy High School’s “senior experience” program. The program is a unique hands-on program which allows graduating seniors to choose a field of interest and work with professionals in that field to learn about the daily routines and challenges in that specific line of work.

Leyland’s “senior experience” culminated in a trip to Albany, where he toured the State Capitol and viewed a working session of the New York State Senate.

Leyland will graduate from Kennedy High School later this month and will be attending Brown University in the fall, where he will study international relations.
