Sen. Farley Obtains $15,000 Legislative Grant For Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C - Schenectady) met with members of the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter on June 5th at the Canajoharie High School and presented the group with a ceremonial check that symbolized the $15,000 legislative grant the Senator obtained for the organization.

The grant will provide a substantial step toward funding the planned expansion and renovation of the facility. Currently, members of the shelter Building and Grounds Committee are preparing a comprehensive plan for the design and equipping of the anticipated project. Following the shelter’s Board approval, the details will be presented to the public. The Board then plans to embark on a major fund drive to insure completion of the expansion.
