Senator Farley Announces Free Photos At Fonda Fair

Those who cannot visit Albany and tour the Senate Chamber can now get a glimpse of the historic room at the Fonda Fair on Saturday, August 30th, according to State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady). A photographic back-drop of the Chamber and accompanying information will be housed at the Scott Hall building on the fairgrounds.

"The Senate Chamber was designed by famous American architect Henry Hobson Richardson and the Chamber officially opened for Session in 1881," Senator Farley said. "Enthusiasts of architecture and history will like to see this booth and obtain information on the Chamber."

The Senate Chamber is on the third floor of the Capitol and now looks the way it did when it was first built, over a century ago.

In addition to the brochures, a photographer will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday to take free photos of residents "visiting the Senate Chamber," Senator Farley will be at that booth from 2 to 4 p.m. to meet with constituents and have his photo taken with them in front of the chamber back-drop.

"This booth, sponsored by the State Senate, allows fairgoers to see where and how State laws are created," Senator Farley said.

The Senator added that his regular booth will continue to be located underneath the Grandstand and he will be frequenting that booth throughout the Fonda Fair week, August 26th through September 1st.

"I'm proud to say that I have participated in the Fonda Fair for about 30 years and my booth has been inside the Grandstand building for all that time. People can continue to visit me there and pick up local tourism information, recipes and other interesting brochures."
