Senator Farley Salute's Boulevard Elementary School's Tom Komp
State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C - Schenectady) met with Thomas Komp, Principal of Boulevard Elementary School in Gloversville, on April 29th when Mr. Komp toured the Capitol with several of his students. Senator Farley also congratulated Mr. Komp for being the School Administrators Association of New York State's Elementary Principal of the Year. Mr. Komp will receive the award during a dinner to be held at the Gideon Putnam in Saratoga Springs on May 9.

LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION Honoring Thomas Komp Upon His Designation for Special Recognition
WHEREAS,
The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community and in their profession; andWHEREAS,
Thomas Komp, Principal of Boulevard Elementary School in Gloversville, will be honored by the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS) with the Elementary Principal of the Year Award during a dinner to be held at the Gideon Putnam in Saratoga Springs on May 9, 2008; andWHEREAS,
This award is bestowed annually upon a SAANYS member who has set the pace, character, and quality of education for the children in his or her school; nominees are administrators who are committed to students, parents, and the community, and have made exceptional contributions to education; andWHEREAS,
Thomas earned a Bachelor’s degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland; he also earned a Masters degree in education and an SAS certification from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts; andWHEREAS,
He held several positions in the Chatham Central School District, and was Principal of McNab-Meco Elementary School in Gloversville before coming to Boulevard Elementary School; andWHEREAS,
Thomas has served as Principal of Boulevard for seven years; andWHEREAS,
He is an active member of SAANYS and the National Association of Elementary School PrincipalsWHEREAS,
Thomas serves as president of the Gloversville Supervisory Staff Association; andWHEREAS,
He also contributes his time to the PTA, Fulton County YMCA, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters; andWHEREAS,
Thomas has made several presentations at national, state, and local conferences detailing the remarkable success of his school’s Response to Intervention model; andWHEREAS,
He has exhibited the true spirit of this prestigious award through his remarkable dedication to his students and his community; now, therefore, be itRESOLVED,
That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to congratulate Thomas Komp upon being honored with the Elementary Principal of the Year Award from the School Administrators Association of New York State; and, be it furtherRESOLVED,
