Bonacic: Sullivan Renaissance 2008 Awards Ceremony A Successful Community Event

State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) attended Sullivan Renaissance Annual Award ceremony at Bethel Woods on August 11th. For the past several years, the Senator secured $75,000 in annual funding to support the Sullivan Renaissance program.

At this year’s event, Senator Bonacic presented an overview of the Category C - Community Enhancement program participants and descriptions of each project. This year, the Silver Feather Award, sponsored and presented by Senator Bonacic was presented to Swan Lake Renaissance for their work completing a historic pavilion, restoring a cemetery, and installing six solar street lamps.

The Golden Feather Award was presented to Roscoe/Rockland Chamber of Commerce for completing several Community Enhancement Program projects, including installation of an 8-foot trout sculpture, landscaping, new benches, and a garden, as well as restoration of a local cemetery.
