Serrano Marches With Three Kings

José M. Serrano

Senator Serrano joined with Governor Spitzer and a massive gathering of community leaders and residents to celebrate the 31st Annual Three Kings Day Parade on Friday, January 4th.

"The Parade is a celebration of our heritage," said the Senator. "It speaks to the great the spiritual and cultural strength of those who came before us, and in so doing provides a foundation for generations to come."

The Three Kings festivities were hosted by El Museo del Barrio, a cultural anchor of the community. Marching with the Senator this year were First Graders from CES 73 x Public School in the Bronx. It was the first time many of the students had ever participated in the parade.

"I can't think of a better way to celebrate than surrounded by young people," said the Senator, who is a member of the Senate Education Committee. "Today was a real education for the students, and it just happened to be a blast as well."
