Senator Parker Gets Re-Appointed to Nazareth Regional High School Committee
Brooklyn, NY- State Senator Kevin Parker has been reappointed to the Nazareth Regional High School board by members of the corporation. Senator Parker continuous commitment to education in the past has not only taken him into the classroom as a professor of both African American Studies and Political Science at Brooklyn College but he also taught at several colleges including: Baruch College –SUNY-Old Westbury, John Jay, and Medgar Evers College – CUNY, City College and Long Island University Brooklyn Campus.
"I am thrilled to be in a position to influence the education of our youth, said Senator Parker. I’ve always made a commitment to education and by joining the board, I am committed to ensuring that our high school standards, assessments and curricula are aligned with the expectations that graduates will face in college and the workforce. Our focus is putting on policies today that will bring about steady, long-term job growth for our children, he added.”
Nazareth Regional High School is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, co-educational private Catholic high school that has provided over 40 years of continuous service to the Brooklyn community. Nazareth Regional High School serves approximately 630 students from Brooklyn and Queens. The school mission is to provide all students the opportunity to develop and broaden their spiritual, intellectual, creative, social, emotional, and physical abilities.

The committee had its first meeting on August 1, 2008 and was extremely excited to have Senator Parker onboard.
