Senator Parker Gives $100,000 Check For Children Facility

SENATOR PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM
  
 
Brooklyn, NY, August 5, 2008 - -    New York State Senator  Kevin Parker today presented a $100,000 check to Shema Kolainu during their “Hear Our Voices” Legislative Breakfast.  With the rapid rise in autism, Senator Parker recognizes the demand for education and resources in this matter.

“Shema Kolainu has opened our eyes to the needs of so many of our children in Brooklyn living with autism," Senator Parker said.  Families living with autistic children can count on me to upgrade these facilities and reclaim the future for their children, and ensure that every child can live up to their potential."

Shema Kolainu is looking to add three more floors which will allow them to reach more children with effective programs. The new space will accommodate classrooms, therapy and clinical evaluation rooms, a library with adaptive technology/computer equipment, a gymnasium, auditorium, high tech conference center and a domed rooftop playground. 

Shema Kolainu is a nonpublic, nonprofit, nondenominational, multi-cultural school, in which they provide quality treatment, education, professional training and mentoring for children with autism.
