No Senate Leader, But Transition Talks Underway

In the alternate universe that is Albany, talks about a hand-off of power from the Senate Republicans to their Democratic counterparts are underway - albeit off to a slow start - despite the fact that it still remains unclear who (if anyone) will lead the chamber on Jan. 7.

Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith said earlier today that he has tapped Sen. Liz Krueger as the Democrats' chief ambassador to Republicanland, which is represented by a delegation led by Binghamton Sen. Tom Libous, who has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos
