Illegal Top Floor Of Building To Finally Come Down
SENATOR GOLDEN: ILLEGAL TOP FLOOR OF BUILDING ON KIMBALL STREET WILL FINALLY COME DOWN
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today is announcing that the top floor of a building, located at 2232 Kimball Street, was issued a criminal violation by the Department of Buildings to remove the top floor of the building, which has been in violation of zoning laws for almost five years.
Senator Marty Golden said, "The diligence of the community minded residents of Marine Park has won. This removal has been a priority of so many who have been forced to deal with this eyesore, in violation of zoning regulations, and it is about time that it will finally be coming down."
Golden continued, "Zoning laws are to be adhered to by all, not just some, and my office will continue to monitor this project until it is within regulation. Any residents with concerns related to properties they feel are being constructed above and beyond the limits should contact my office in order to notify the Buildings Department. Maintaining the character of our community is vital to maintaining the excellent quality of life we have come to enjoy."
Permits have already been filed with the New York City Department of Buildings to begin the removal of the floor in violation.
