Martin J. Golden

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today joined leaders of the 13th Avenue Merchants, the Fort Hamilton Board of Trade and the Bay Ridge Bensonhurst Beautification and Preservation Alliance to announce the recent installation of 24 new green garbage receptacles along both 13th Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway.

The leaders gathered for the announcement in front of Girasole Realty located at 7624-13th Avenue. The new garbage pails were made possible by a grant awarded by Senator Marty Golden to the Bay Ridge Bensonhurst Beautification and Preservation Alliance. Senator Golden was joined by Bill Girasole of the 13th Avenue Merchants, Pat Condren of the Bay Ridge Bensonhurst Beautification Preservation Alliance, Basil Capetankis of the 5th Avenue Business Improvement District, and Joe DiPaolo of the Fort Hamilton Board of Trade.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "As a former small business owner and as a founding member of the 5th Avenue Board of Trade, I know how important it is to beautify our avenues and allow for user-friendly and clean shopping for all residents. These new garbage pails will help to make 13th Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway a place that our community can be even more proud of, and a place where New Yorkers want to shop, and dine. Supporting small business has been and remains a top priority of mine."
