State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today is announcing the winner of his second annual student art contest, Lafayette High School’s Sun Young Park (contest held in June 2007).
Sun Young Park drew the winning art work entitled, "Street on my Block". Her artwork was selected from over 28 pieces submitted from a variety of high schools including Bishop Ford High School, Telecommunications High School, Midwood High School, Adelphi Academy, Bishop Kearney High School, the Brooklyn Studio School, and the Fiorella H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art. The contest was held at the Tabla Rasa Art Gallery.
Senator Golden stated, "The students of this community have great talent and our schools are truly teaching them the importance of excelling in the arts. The submissions I received from the students were all above standards and extraordinary in their creativity and design. I applaud Sun Young Park for creating such an outstanding work of art, and I am confident that within our neighborhood, we have a young woman destined for great things in the field of art."
