Senator Golden Honors 5th Avenue’s Kruchkow’s Shoe Shop On 100th Anniversary

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn), recently presented a New York State Senate Resolution to Seth and Debra Kruchkow, the owners of 5th Avenue’s Kruchkow’s Shoe Shop, in honor of their 100th Anniversary of providing high quality comfort footwear for women and men.

Senator Marty Golden honored the anniversary and their outstanding professional behavior and enduring commitment to the community. Kruchkow’s was founded by Joshua Kruchkow in 1901 at 4914 Fifth Avenue where it remained until 1932, when the business moved to its present location at 7808 Fifth Avenue.

In 1947, Joshua Kruchkow’s son, Arnold Kruchkow, joined the business after his tour of duty with the United States Navy, and worked with his father until he passed away in 1955. Arnold continued the tradition of service through his participation, along with his wife Harriet, in many neighborhood activities and with dedication to the vibrancy of the Bay Ridge business community.

In 1976, Seth Kruchkow the current owner, Arnold’s son, joined his father at Kruchkow’s Shoe Shop representing the third generation and carrying on a 100 year tradition of service to the citizens of Brooklyn.

This business is truly a testament to the strength of small business in our community and I look forward to seeing Kruchkow continue to enjoy much success.
