Senator Golden To Host Lunar New Year Celebration
SENATOR GOLDEN TO HOST LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
Brooklyn- Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) together with the Chinese American Partnership Inc., is announcing that he will host his 7th Annual Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday 3/2/07, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at New Utrecht High School, located at 1601-80th Street in Brooklyn.
The celebration will include Chinese and Malaysian cultural performances, by both senior citizens and children, community information, a lucky raffle and awards will recognize outstanding individuals who have a difference in the community.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "I am pleased to host my 7th Lunar New Year Celebration of South Brooklyn to mark the year of the rat. In 2004, I led the passage of legislation in the Senate to have Lunar New Year to be recognized as an official celebration day. Since then, New York State bestows official state recognition upon this Lunar New Year celebration. I salute Asian Heritage Month and look forward to a great celebration."
The celebration has over 20 personal and corporate sponsors. The event is supported because the sponsors recognize the special meaning and importance of this celebration within the community.
