SENATOR GOLDEN TO HOST SENIOR CITIZEN TOWN HALL MEETING

State Senator Martin Golden (R-C, Brooklyn), the Chairman of the State Senate Aging Committee, today announced that he has planned a Senior Citizen Town Hall Meeting that will focus on issues affecting the senior citizens in our area The town hall is scheduled for Friday, March 14th at 1:00 p.m. at the Bay Ridge Center located at 6935-4th Avenue.

Representatives from the Medicare Rights Center, Department for the Aging, the Parks Department, Police, Fire and other departments will participate to inform our seniors of what is going on around our community and in our neighborhoods.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "This town hall meeting will be a great place for neighborhood seniors to get direct answers to their questions about changes in Medicare, programs at the Department of Aging and support services that serve the residents of the community. This forum will allow for an open discussion regarding any concerns our seniors may have and answer questions on topics that will directly affect their quality of life."

Golden continued, "I realize the importance for the senior community to interact directly with the government in an effort to make sure that the programs are efficient and effective and that they meet the needs of an aging population. It is critical that the government work to enhance and expand programs that increase independence, dignity and choice for seniors."
