Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District), with the Bay Ridge-Bensonhurst Parks Task Force and CERT1NYC, today is announcing plans to host a series of summer concerts throughout the months of June, July and August. The events will be held in parks throughout Senator Golden’s District, from Shore Road Park to Marine Park, and will be held on most Tuesday and Wednesday evenings throughout the summer.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "With the sun beginning to shine late into the evening, let’s head to our parks for fun filled evenings of entertainment. A great lineup for sure, meaning great shows all summer long, so bring a blanket, a chair, your family and friends and don’t miss a show all summer."

The concerts begin next week with the first two performances, Tuesday, July 1, 2008 with Big Shot, a Billy Joel Tribute Band, at 7:00 p.m. at 79th Street and Shore Road, and the series continues on Wednesday, July, 2, 2008 when "Time Was" will perform a mixture of 60’s-70’s and oldies in Marine Park.

"The Concert Series features talent that brings to life the music we have come to enjoy and love," continued Senator Golden, "So no matter what your preference is be it the Drifters or the Trammps, or the sounds of the Beatles, Billy Joel, or Dion, or just the songs of different eras such as the Oldies, R & B, soul, disco, Do-Wop oldies, or the music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, there is something for everyone. So bring your chair and your blanket and head to the park-it’s show time."
