Senator Golden To Offer Free Flu Shots To The Community

SENATOR MARTY GOLDEN AND THE VISITING NURSE SERVICE OF NEW YORK OFFER FREE FLU SHOTS TO COMMUNITY

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) in conjunction with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, is announcing plans to offer more than 500 free flu shots to the community in October.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "I am proud to partner with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York to make available the flu vaccination available to this community at no cost. It is important that those who require this vaccination, and those wishing to receive the shot, have this opportunity in order to prevent them from illness this winter season."

The free flu shots will be administered at his Marine Park office, located at 3610 Quentin Road, on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reservations for this date are now being accepted by calling Golden's office at (718) 627-2659.

The free flu shots will be administered in Bay Ridge, at the Bay Ridge Manor located at 476-76th Street, on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Reservations for this date are being now being accepted by calling Golden's office at (718) 238-6044.

The Department of Health and Human Services recommends people get their flu shot in October. People over 50 years of age and older are encouraged to get the influenza vaccine.
