Martin J. Golden

State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn), the Chairman of the Senate Aging Committee and a judge in the upcoming "Senior Idol" event, is predicting that the Spring event will be a huge success, set to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Xaverian High School, located at 7100 Shore Road. Councilman Vincent Gentile and a Surprise Celebrity Guest will join Golden in the judging.

Senator Golden stated, "Brooklyn is home to many talented seniors who have exhibited singing and dancing abilities at our senior centers and beyond, and I think that the upcoming ‘Senior Idol’ will be a very unique and special event for these skills to be showcased before the entire community. I encourage all those interested to apply, try out, and who knows, maybe win, the first ‘Senior Idol’, maybe a chance to springboard a career in entertainment as a second career for some."

Only the first 100 applicants will be accepted and applications must be received by March 1, 2008, which can be sent via e-mail at bksenioridol@gmail.com or by contacting Senator Golden’s office at (718) 238-6044.
