Senator Golden Visits 86th Street Construction Project For Status Report

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) recently visited and met with officials of the Department of Design and Construction at the site of the 86th Street sewer construction project to be updated about the status and progress of the project.

Department of Design and Construction Commissioner David J. Burney was represented at the field visit and project briefing by Assistant Commissioner Thomas Wynne, director of Brooklyn construction; Lambert Monah, deputy director of DDC’s Brooklyn bureau; Marie Brando, engineer in charge; Darlene Mehrpour, community construction liasion and senior members of the contractor’s company.

Senator Golden stated, "The work presently underway on 86th Street to reconstruct the sewer is a major project that is each day making progress towards completion. Upon conclusion of this project, our community will benefit from more effective sewers and better conditions in and around our very busy 86th Street, from Shore Road to Gatling Place, including improvements to our curbs, sidewalks, street lighting along with the planting of new trees."

Golden continued, "I continue to work with the Department of Design and Construction to make sure that this major work is done with the least possible disruption to the neighborhood. Understanding of the fact that this work needs to be done, and that we will be the beneficiaries of the project’s successful completion, our community thanks the City of New York."
