Saland Honored By Federal Law Enforcement Foundation

The Federal Law Enforcement Foundation is a charitable organization that provides support to members of law enforcement, their families and many charitable groups. Established in 1988 by a group of concerned business leaders to provide financial support to the families of FBI agents killed in action, the Foundation now provides financial assistance to many federal and local law enforcement agencies, to officers and agents suffering from serious illness or recovering from a natural disaster or anti terrorist events and to programs such as the Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the NYPD Vest Fund, PBA Widows and Children’s’ Funds, PAL Programs and many others.

Previous recipients of the Community Service Award have included former President Bill Clinton, former Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Henry Kissinger, former NY Governor George Pataki, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Edward Cardinal Egan of the NY Archdiocese and former U.S. Senator Alphonse D’Amato.

In addition to Senator Saland, this year’s recipients of the Community Service Award are NYS Governor David Paterson, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and Bill O’Reilly, host of the Fox News Channel show The O’Reilly Factor.
