Senator Saland Announces Grants For Dutchess County Libraries

Senator Saland has previously announced $51,200 in capital improvement grants for the following libraries:

LaGrange Library                     $4,000
Morton Memorial Library       $40,000
Red Hook Public Library          $7,200

“In addition to our homes and schools, libraries provide a strong foundation for learning for our communities,” said Senator Saland. “I am very pleased to have secured this additional funding for technology and capital improvements for local libraries, “ he continued. “Students and adults who utilize these libraries will reap the benefits of these additional resources for years to come,” said Senator Saland.

“Thanks to Senator Saland, this grant will allow us to transform ground floor space of our building by installing a new floor with radiant heating while maintaining the historic nature of our structure,” stated Joanne Meyer, Director of the Morton Memorial Library.

“Once again Senator Saland demonstrates his commitment to public libraries at a time when the demand for library services and materials is growing rapidly.,” stated Matthew Pfisterer, Director of the Grinnell Library. “These funds will help public libraries continue to provide much needed support to our local communities,” Mr. Pfisterer concluded.
