Senator Steve Saland Secures Funding For Local Education Initiatives

Saland secured the following funding in the 2008-2009 State Budget:

Concerted Effort -- Audio-visual equipment and materials for the Hudson City School District -- $3,000
FASNY Museum of Fire Fighters -- Fire safety education project -- $14,689
Walter B. Howard Elem. Playground -- Replace Pre-K to 3rd grade playground -- $26,000

“As the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee, I know that providing appropriate learning experiences for children outside of the classroom is becoming more and more important,” said Senator Saland. “These organizations have proven track records of doing just that -- I am glad I was able to secure this funding for their continued success.”

This grant will be instrumental in allowing the New Lebanon Central School to complete the project and provide a fun and engaging environment for our children's health, safety and well being.
