Senator Steve Saland Secures State Grant For Rhinebeck Fire Department

“Firefighters are dedicated to saving lives and property and risk their lives on the job every day,” said Senator Saland. “I’m pleased to have been able to secure this funding for the purchase of this important equipment so property tax payers will not have to bear the burden.”

Brian Connelly, Fire Lieutenant in the Rhinebeck Fire Department said, “In these economically depressed times, we certainly appreciate the cooperation received front Senator Saland’s office and his efforts in obtaining the funding for the Rhinebeck Fire Department. The monies will be used to provide a fire extinguishing kit which will enable the Fire Department to train hospitals, schools and day care personnel in the safe operation and use of fire extinguishers.”

“In addition, the traffic regulatory equipment and high visibility vests will improve upon the safety of firefighters and fire police. The traffic regulatory equipment will be used to create a safe working area while providing for traffic flow during emergencies,” Connelly added.
