Senator Steve Saland Secures State Grants For Columbia County Service Providers
Senator Steve Saland (R,I,C Poughkeepsie) today announced he has secured state grants totaling $79,000 for three emergency service providers and COARC, which provides assistance to people with disabilities. The grants are as follows:
“The Hillsdale Fire Company No. 1, the Red Rock Volunteer Fire Company and the Germantown Police Department are all dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the public,” said Senator Saland. “The state grants allow these organizations to purchase necessary equipment without burdening local taxpayers with the costs. COARC has been providing services to children and adults with disabilities for over 40 years. This grant will assist them to continue that mission. I’m glad I was able to secure funding for these four organizations whose mission is to serve the public.”
"COARC is very grateful to Senator Saland for the recent grant for computer equipment which will help enhance our workforce. Senator Saland's commitment to community organizations in Columbia County and to individuals with disabilities is well recognized," said Ken Stall, Executive Director of COARC.
Don Fischer, President of the Red Rock Volunteer Fire Company said, “Senator Saland is someone we know we can count on to help us protect our community. Without the Senator’s help, we would not have been able to afford the thermal imaging camera.”
