Senator Montgomery Hosts "Brooklyn Elected Officials" On BCAT

Velmanette Montgomery

On a recent edition of "Brooklyn Elected Officials," which airs on BCAT, Senator Velmanette Montgomery (D-Brooklyn) discusses the delivery of healthcare services to youth with Dr. Terry Jan Blackett-Bonnett, MD. Dr. Bonnett is the Medical Director at Berean Community and Family Life Center, located in the Weeksville/Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.

The Berean Community and Family Life Center (BCFLC) is a first of its kind in New York City for a faith-based organization that focuses on health and wellness for adults and children.  This unique Center currently houses a medical clinic with highly respected physicians in podiatry, gastroenterology (GI specialty), along with pediatricians, internists, obstetrician/gynecologists, physical therapists and a nutritionist.

Senator Montgomery and Dr. Bonnett also discuss the Senator's "Teen Health Agenda," which recommends, among other things, the teaching of age-appropriate, medically-accurate sex education in kindergarten through the 12th grade.

The Senator's program will air on Time Warner Cable channel 56 and Cablevision channel 69 on Friday, April 25 at 9 p.m.; Tuesday, April 29 at 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.; Thursday, May 1 at 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. and Friday, May 2 at 1 p.m. and 9 p.m.
