SLA’s Free Training Seminar In Buffalo A Success

SLA, Empire State Restaurant and Tavern Association Provide Training to a Packed House at Buffalo State College for Restaurant, Bar, and Tavern Owners 

BUFFALO, NY – The New York State Liquor Authority and the Empire State Restaurant and Tavern Association (ESRTA) conducted a free compliance training seminar for nearly 200 restaurant, bar and tavern owners at Buffalo State College on January 14, 2009.  Scott Wexler, Executive Director of ESRTA, provided instruction entitled “the ABC’s of the Alcoholic Beverage Control law.”  The three hour training provided licensees guidance on complying with the Alcoholic Beverage Control law, as well as SLA regulations and policies. In addition, staff from the SLA were on hand to field questions from the audience as well as work with individual licensees following the training.   The “ABC’s of the Alcoholic Beverage Control law” program was developed by the ESRTA with the assistance of the SLA to help ensure restaurant and bar owners have the information they need to comply with the law.  

“As education and training is the key to achieving compliance, I want to thank all of our licensees who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend this important seminar,” said SLA Chairman Daniel B. Boyle.  “I also want to remind licensees to reach out to our office with any questions or concerns they may have.  The SLA remains committed to helping licensees understand what is expected of them under the law.”

That’s good for the business and owners and for the public at large.”  

 The State Liquor Authority regulates and controls the manufacture, sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages within the State.  The Authority works with local law enforcement agencies and localities across the State to ensure compliance with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law.  In addition, the Authority issues and renews licenses and permits to manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers of alcoholic beverages.
