Thompson Appointed As Senate’s Deputy Majority Whip, Chair Of Environmental Conservation Committee
Buffalo, NY- Antoine M. Thompson, New York State Senator for the 60th District (Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) announced his leadership appointment as the Senate’s Deputy Majority Whip.
Chairing the Senate’s Committee on Environmental Conservation will allow Thompson to continue his environmental stewardship, ultimately helping to shape New York State’s landscape on brownfields, while improving zoos, botanical gardens, aquariums, museums, and art galleries. He will be in a better position to aid western New York’s waterfront development, improving recycling rates and strategies, helping to develop a green jobs economy and much more.

Thompson’s other committee assignments include Civil Service and Pensions; Finance; Health; Insurance; Local Governance; Tourism, Recreation, and Sports Development; and Veterans, Homeland Security, and Military Affairs. He will also continue serving as Co-Chair of the Senate Majority’s MWBE Taskforce.
