Economic devastation feared if Crown Point Bridge remains closed

CROWN POINT - The economic effect of the Champlain (aka Crown Point) Bridge's closure is already being felt, and local officials and residents fear things could get much worse if the bridge is not reopened soon.
Cindy Bodette, who owns the Frenchman's Restaurant in Crown Point, said her business has declined between 30 and 40 percent since people from Vermont can't get there. She said a lot of her customers also go on to shop elsewhere, such as at the Walmart in Ticonderoga.
